Annie Finch is a poet, speaker, writer, teacher, and performer who offers spellbinding readings of poetry infused with magic. She is the author of Spells: New and Selected Poems and five other books of poetry; books and essays on poetry, meter, feminism, and witchcraft; verse plays; a poetry textbook; and nine edited anthologies, including Choice Words, the landmark collection of literature on abortion. Dr. Finch earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University and traces her descent from witches imprisoned during the Salem witch trials, Norse volurs, and Celtic bards. She travels widely to speak about feminism, poetry, and spirituality and to perform her poetry and rituals.
