Greetings all,

I can't think of a better way to celebrate Pride Month 2021 in this space than to announce Jane Fleishman's The Stonewall Generation: LGBTQ Elders on Sex, Activism, and Aging as a 2020 Nautilus Book Award winner in the category of Social Change and Social Justice.

Published by Skinner House in June of last year, The Stonewall Generation features stories of fearless elders in the LGBTQ community who came of age around the time of the Stonewall Riots of 1969. It's a sex-positive, unapologetic look at LGBTQ culture - including the voices of folks often overlooked in more mainstream versions of LGBTQ history . . . people of color, transgender and bisexual folks, drag queens and sex workers. If you haven't already, we encourage you to order this book today and make use of the free discussion guide by the author - it's a must-read for anyone committed to intersectional activism and social justice.

While we're on the topic, do explore some of our other LGBTQ-related titles - such as Alex Gino's books for middle-grade readers, Rick and George; Beacon Press's A Queer History of the United States for Young People and ACE: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex; and Raising LGBTQ Allies: A Parent's Guide to Changing the Messages from the Playground.
