Dan Schatz
Biography: 

Rev. Dan Schatz is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist who grew up at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Church in Bethesda, Maryland.

In 2006 Dan's response to Hurricane Katrina, "And Justice for All," won the Journey Toward Wholeness award for the best sermon on anti-racism. Two years later, "Reflections of a Unitarian Universalist Pacifist" was honored with the Unitarian Universalist Association's Commission on Social Witness Sermon Award. Dan has been heavily involved in the struggle for equal marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples. In October of 2009, he co-officiated at the Interfaith Service for Healthcare Reform, A Call to Compassion.

Dan is also a GRAMMY nominated folk musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer with three albums to his credit. More information, photos and sound samples can be found at www.danschatz.com.
