Dear Friends,

The UUA Bookstore will be closed for annual inventory on July 29 and 30. Orders and inquiries placed on these days will be processed on Monday, August 2. Our inventory allows us to process orders accurately and efficiently. Some orders will be delayed up to four business days, and we ask for your patience. Please email bookstore@uua.org if you have questions about your order or if you require expedited shipping.

Many of you are going to truly cherish this new series of books, just acquired by Skinner House (featured right, and below).

They're collections of wisdom tales and fables from Chinese, Buddhist and Islamic cultures. They're designed to be read aloud. What I love about them is that they're inspirational and educational and they open a child's mind up to a variety of cultures and faiths.

They make me wish I was still reading aloud to my son. Not a chance, though. He's off to college in the fall!

Sincerely,

Rose Sig

A collection of traditional stories from one of the world’s oldest civilizations. For over two thousand years, the Chinese have used brief sayings known as chengyu to sum up practical wisdom and ethical principles. Most chengyu are associated with a story that illustrates their meaning, and these stories have been passed down by word of mouth over the centuries.
